A Cathedral, Roman Streets, Quiet Water. One Hour from Southampton.

Chichester reveals itself in two halves, and most visitors only ever catch one. Inside the old walls, a cathedral that has stood over the city for more than nine centuries rises above streets still laid out on their Roman grid, with independent shops and the Market Cross gathered around its base. A short distance south, the land gives way to water, and Chichester Harbour opens into still, silver channels that wind quietly toward the sea. Seeing both in a single day has always meant watching the clock.

Car parks fill, tide times shift, and the cathedral keeps its own hours around services, so a day that tries to hold the city and the harbour together can become a scramble.

A private chauffeur-driven day with Lukso removes all of that. You travel in comfort from your doorstep, step out of the cathedral when you are ready rather than when a tour group moves on, and let your chauffeur carry you the short distance to the water as the day unfolds at your own pace. Roman streets in the morning, open water and birdsong by the afternoon, with nothing in between but a comfortable seat and a cool drink.

From People Who've Made the Journey

We let our passengers do the talking.

What You're Actually Paying For

Door-to-Door from Southampton

We know the South. We collect from your home, hotel or cruise terminal, we know the best approach into Chichester and where to drop you for the cathedral and the old city, and we know how long the drive realistically takes. No guesswork.

No Group. No Timetable

Chichester at your own pace. Linger in the cathedral all morning, or save the time for the harbour and a long lunch by the water. Nobody is waiting for you at the coach door.

A Chauffeur Who Knows the Route

We’ve done this journey many times. Ask us about the quietest time to see the cathedral, where the harbour looks its best as the light softens, or whether Fishbourne or West Wittering is worth adding. You’ll get a straight answer.

The Journey Home is Part of It Too

After a full day on your feet between the old city and the water, the drive back to Southampton should feel like the end of a good day, not an afterthought.

Your Carriage Awaits

Every vehicle is immaculate, climate-controlled, and stocked with refreshments. Choose by group size or preference, all come with a professional chauffeur included.

Your Chichester Tour Questions, Answered

How long does the tour take, and can we really see both the cathedral and the harbour in a day?
Comfortably, yes. Chichester sits around 30 to 60 minutes from most pickups, so most guests choose either a half day (roughly 5 hours) or a full day (roughly 8 hours). A full day gives you unhurried time inside the cathedral and around the city in the morning, then the harbour in the afternoon, with a relaxed lunch in between.
Do you collect us from our door, hotel or the cruise terminal?
We do, and we do it often. Your chauffeur meets you at your home, your hotel or the Southampton or Portsmouth cruise terminal, takes care of the route and parking, and stays with you for the whole day. It is one of the main reasons guests choose a private tour over driving themselves.
Is it just our group in the car, and can we set the pace?
Always. Every tour is completely private, so the car is yours alone, with no strangers and no shared seats. You decide how long to linger at the cathedral, when to head for the water and where to stop along the way. The day runs to your timetable, not ours.
Is the cathedral entry included, and how does that work?
Chichester Cathedral welcomes visitors with admission by donation rather than a fixed ticket, so there is nothing for us to pre-book on the entry itself. Guided cathedral tours and the spire tour, where available, are arranged separately and are easy to fit into your day. Your chauffeur will help you time your visit around opening hours and any services.
Can we add West Wittering, Bosham, Goodwood or a lunch stop?
Absolutely. The countryside around Chichester is part of the appeal. Tell your chauffeur what you fancy, whether that is a beach, a waterside pub, the Roman palace at Fishbourne or a drive through the South Downs, and we will work it into the day.
How far in advance should we book?
The sooner the better, especially in summer and around major events at Goodwood, when both the city and our fleet are in high demand. As a guide, a week or two ahead is sensible, though we will always do our best to accommodate shorter notice when we can.
