A Castle, a Cathedral, Nine Centuries. One Hour from Southampton

Arundel rises out of the West Sussex countryside the way the best places do, slowly and then all at once. A medieval castle that has stood since 1067 looks down over the rooftops, and a short walk away a soaring nineteenth-century cathedral closes the view at the top of the hill. Between them sits a small town of independent shops, riverside paths along the Arun, and quiet corners that reward anyone who is not in a hurry. The trouble with seeing it any other way is the clock.

Public transport leaves you watching timetables, and the castle's staterooms only open their doors around midday, so a poorly planned visit can become a scramble. A private chauffeur-driven day with Lukso removes all of that. You travel in comfort from your doorstep, arrive when the timing is right, and let the day unfold at your own pace across both landmarks and the town between them.

From People Who've Made the Journey

We let our passengers do the talking.

What You're Actually Paying For

Door-to-Door from Southampton

We know the South. We know the best approach into Arundel, where to drop you right at the Castle gates, and how long the drive realistically takes. No guesswork.

No Group. No Timetable

Arundel at your own pace. Spend the whole morning in the Castle or save time for the Cathedral and the river. Nobody is waiting for you at the coach door.

A Chauffeur Who Knows the Route

We've done this journey many times. Ask us about the best time to visit, which entrance to use at the Castle, or whether Fishbourne is worth adding. You'll get a straight answer.

The Journey Home is Part of It Too

After a full morning on your feet in one of England's finest historic towns, the drive back to Southampton should feel like the end of a good day, not an afterthought.

Your Carriage Awaits

Every vehicle is immaculate, climate-controlled, and stocked with refreshments. Choose by group size or preference, all come with a professional chauffeur included.

Your Arundel Tour Questions, Answered

How long does the whole tour take?
Arundel sits around an hour from Southampton, so most guests choose either a half day (about 5 hours) or a full day (about 8 hours). A full day gives you comfortable time for both the castle and the cathedral, with lunch and a wander through the town in between.
Can we see both Arundel Castle and Arundel Cathedral in one day?
Yes, and it is one of the loveliest things about Arundel. The two stand only a short distance apart at the top of the town, so a full-day tour lets you explore the castle and its gardens, step into the cathedral, and still have time for lunch by the river.
Are the entry tickets included?
The price covers your private chauffeur and car. Arundel Castle admission is booked separately so you are free to choose castle, gardens or both, and we are happy to help you plan around the opening times. Arundel Cathedral is free to enter, though donations are welcomed.
What time does the castle open, and is it open every day?
The castle grounds and gardens open in the morning, while the staterooms and castle rooms usually open from around midday. The 2026 season runs from 1 April to 1 November, and the castle is generally closed on Mondays except bank holidays and throughout August. Your chauffeur will time the day so you are never left waiting.
Can you collect us straight from the cruise terminal?
Yes, and we do it often. We will meet you at the Southampton cruise terminal, look after you all day in Arundel, and have you back at the ship in good time, with the schedule planned carefully around your departure so there is no last-minute rush.
Is it really just our group in the car?
It is. Every tour is completely private, so the car is yours alone, with no strangers and no shared seats, just your own party and your chauffeur for the whole day.
Can we stop for lunch or a coffee?
Absolutely. Tell your chauffeur what you fancy and we will work it in, whether that is a riverside pub, a cafe in the town, or a quiet spot in the South Downs on the way home.
Is the tour suitable for guests with limited mobility?
We will do everything we can to make the day comfortable. Our cars are easy to step into and your chauffeur is on hand throughout. Parts of the castle and the hilltop town involve steps and slopes, so let us know your needs when you enquire and we will plan the day sensibly around them.
